MA205/MTH181 Elementary Statistics This course will introduce students to the statistical concepts and procedures needed to evaluate daily information from reports, articles and television stories and improve their ability to make decisions in many different areas such as the sciences, medical and allied health fields, business, education, psychology and others. Emphasis will be on calculating statistics, explaining statistical procedures, and interpreting the results. Course covers both descriptive and inferential statistics. A TI 84 graphing calculator and Microsoft Excel will be used to aid in calculations.
Prerequisite:MA178/MTH178 or equivalent with a passing grade of C or better.
