LIT182 Young Adult Literature
Students in this course read and discuss various forms of literature geared toward adolescents and discuss social issues such as death, religion, race, class, friendship, sexuality, etc. as a means to think critically, track relevant themes, and offer analysis. Students in this class explore a variety of literary genres with readings originating from a variety of perspectives and time periods. This exploration includes students discovering common themes or finding meaning in their own experiences as well as to the experiences of others, thus increasing the student’s cultural exposure and knowledge.
