Surgical Technology: SCCC Allied Health Education Program

Taken at one of EDUKAN’s consortium member colleges, these certificate programs are designed to provide students with the skills necessary to be successfully employed. Students may complete some or all of the certificate programs through EDUKAN.

The Surgical Technologist program teaches expertise in the theory and application of aseptic technique and combines the knowledge of human anatomy, surgical procedures, instrumentation and technologies to facilitate a physician’s performance of invasive therapeutic and diagnostic procedures.

All lecture material is accessed online with the laboratory requirements being completed at an approved clinical laboratory site. Students interested in studying surgical technology at SCCC must complete an admissions application for the college and meet with a surgical technology advisor.  Students admitted to this program may take their required general education courses online with EDUKAN.

Please visit Seward County Community College’s Surgical Technology page for more info and CAAHEP & ARC/STSA for accreditation information.
